Currently Reading Tag

Hello guys! I’ve finally decided to take part in the currently reading tag thingy. I hope you enjoy this read .

1. How many books do you usually read at once?

Usually I try to only read one at once since I get a bit stressed if I’m reading loads of books at the same time , but as I can’t help myself I ,more times than I wish, read 2-3 books at the same time
2. If you’re reading more than one book at a time, how do you decide when to switch to reading the other book (do you read a certain amount of pages in each?)

I usually just read what I want , I do not make myself read a book that I’m not in the mood to so I pick up whatever I feel like reading, within my currently reading pile , and I read as many or as little pages as I feel like reading .
3. Do you ever switch bookmarks while you’re part way through a book?

No, once I start a book I choose a bookmark that will stay with that same book until I finish it .
4. Where do you keep the book you’re currently reading?

On top of my bookshelf or in my bedside table.
5. What time of day do you spend the most time reading?

In the evenings, as soon as I’m done with my homework I will get some reading done until I go to bed , usually from 5pm until 9pm .

6. How long do you typically read for in one go?

Maybe 1 hour tops , I have a hard time focusing on the book that I’m reading within one hour from picking it up so I do little breaks .
7. Do you read hard covers with the dust jacket on or off?

Dust jacket ALWAYS off .
8. Which position do you mainly use to read?

Sitting down on my cozy puff (not sure if that is a word in english but it is in portuguese)
9. Do you take the book you’re currently reading with you everywhere you go?

Yeah.
10. How often do you update your progress in the book you’re currently reading on goodreads?

Every 100 pages or so .
11. Who would you like to tag?

My homie Thunderreads and Winterfellslibrary .

The Final Empire Spoilery Review

If you haven’t read this book and you want to hear my non spoilery review go over to my goodreads page and check it out.

In order to this review sound coherent you should probably check my non spoiler review

And let the spoilers begin.

This book AHHH… When Kelsier died I was like “okay…if this is the plot twist then people need to figure out their lives ” but then when we discovered why he died I was indeed surprised because at first it looks like he was just being dumb , wich you know that Kelsier is the least dumb person there is .I was really happy that he didn’t die on a whim ,he died for a reason and that made me really happy .

I was so surprised that Marsh was dead but then not really  dead. My mind was blown by that .

For me I the real plot twist was when you discovered that the Lord Ruler wasn’t actually THE Lord Ruler, it never came to my mind although I did find pretty weird that the way the Lord Ruler acted in his diary was nothing like the way he acted in real life.

As in for the characters , I loved Sazed! He and Elend were hands down my favourite characters in this book . Sazed is such an amazing and loving character! Elend is such a cutie even though it took me quite sometime for me to get used to him and to trust him (even though I still don’t really trust him ) His relationship with Vin was so cute , I loved seeing their relationship become stronger and stronger !

I loved the crew , they were so supportive and I loved the warmness with which they treated each other and how they welcomed Vin to the crew with arms wide open .

I loved Kelsier , he was sucha badass character , I loved the fact that he overcame his fear of the Pits in order to destroy the Final Empire .

I want to read The Well of Ascenscion ASAP !

These were my thoughts on The Final Empire , I hope you enjoyed and tell me your thoughts bellow!

A bookish Q&A

So a few weeks ago I asked you guys on Instagram (travelling_through_pages) to ask me questions and this is what you came up with, hope you enjoy it !

Thunderreads asked :

  • What’s your favorite genre?

I’d have to say Contemporary because it’s just a really cute and fun read and I love when there is romance in books also I love to see relathionships between people unravel and to see how we , as human beings, behave so differently .

Sreadsya asked :

  • If you could bring one character to life, who would it be?

Kind of SPOILER ALERT  I have to say A.J.Fickry even if that means that the book (The Storied Life of A.J.Fickry) wouldn’t be as powerful as it was, A.J was such a loving character and it was really hard to see him die like that .

  • What are some of your favourite book to movie adaptations?

The Diary of a Young Girl . I had to read this book for class and as soon as I finished it I had to watch the movie and it was just as beautiful, and even watching the movie I felt so surrounded by the story aghh that movie was amazing .

Booksbydelune asked :

  • When did you begin to read?

I read my first full book when I was about six years old , I actually remember that day and the book (it was Noddy ) I read it with my dad next to me but he was there just to help me with the spelling .

  • Favorite female and male character?

After spending a lot of time thinking of this one my final answer is Melanie from The Girl with All the Gifts for the female character and James from The Program for the male character ( Ettiéne from Anna and the French Kiss is also an amazing male character )

  • Favorite book?

The Program by Suzanne Young  .I honestly don’t really know what made me love this book so much but I really really loved it and after almost a year it’s still my favourite

  • Worst book you’ve read?

Oh god , the worst book I’ve read has to be The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold it is truly the worst book ever published in my opinion. The plot sounded amazing but the story itself got so so so so boring that I took about 2 months ,if not even more ,to finish it . I’m so annoyed that that book was published. I respect everyone who loved this book but it just wasn’t for me

  • How many books do you read per week?

I’m a very slow reader, and the reason for that is that I have a really hard time finding time to read therefore I only read like half a book per week and the best I can do is a book

Thank you all so much for the questions and for reading this! I will see you all very soon xx

Top 5 apps for Android (and maybe apple)

So this past day I’ve been downloading new apps appreciating the ones that I already had and I decided to make a list of my top 5 favourite apps, these are for Android but I’m sure that if you have an IPhone it will work just as fine

AllWomenStalk
This app is amazing! It has so many interesting and fun articles and it is literally everything a woman stalks in just one place! You should definitely download this one if you haven’t already because it’s truly the best thing ever

8tracks
This is the perfect app if you love music and play lists. Personally I love finding new music new artists and well build play lists and this app is just that. And it doesn’t play adds like other apps so it’s perfect!

Quizup
I’m sure most of you have heard of this one. It’s just a fun app to have, it quizzes you on whatever you want from TV shows to general culture. It can either make you feel really clever or dumb but no matter what you’ll have a great time, I promise.

-TED
No this has nothing to deal with that comedy movie with the little cute bear. This app/site has thousands and thousands of talks, they are called TED talks, they cover almost every topic you can imagine. The talks are just so well constructed and so interesting to listen to. You have to download this app now!

Goodreads
I’m sure you saw that coming. I truly love  this app so much it’s an amazing way to keep in touch with fellow bookworms and to make sure you read! I do with they made some upgrades on the layout but until then I’ll keep using it and loving it.

Wich of these apps did you already knew? Wich ones are new to you? Tell me bellow!

Books I want to read in 2016

The New Year is almost coming and with that comes my reading bucket list (is that a thing?I’m sure it is a thing), in this list I will not include the books that I own because I feel like that doesn’t really count ,I might do a seperate post about the books on my tbr pile .

In 2016 I want to read more books with Lgbt+ characters because I haven’t read enough of those so to start I would like to read :

  • Golden Boy by Abigail Tarttelin
I first heard of this on a padfootandprongs07 video and she said so many great things about it that I was like yes I want this book I have to have it.
  • Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
This book has received so many awards I’ve heard nothing but great things about this book and I’m really excited to read it , I hope it will live up to the expectations.
  • Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
This one came out this year I think and once again I’ve heard nothing but great things about it , a couple of friends have recommended it and I just want it NOW.
  • More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
I feel like all these books were recommended by padfootandprongs07  wich I find it quite funny, anyways I am also really excited to read this one.

I want to read loads more books but I still have to go through the ones that I own so I can order more .

What books are you the most excited to read in 2016?  Tell me in the comments bellow!

Story Time! A collection of funny stories

Although I’m really young I feel like my life so far could be turned into a comedy … Today I’m bringing you a sneak peak of that comedy .

This first story happened when I was about 6 or 7 years old , me and my family were on vacation in Namibia and we were  visiting the wonders of Etosha Park ,wich is a national park with loads of wild animals , and there were parts in wich you COULD NOT get out of the car because there was a really big chance of having a cheetah running after you , but as my father was such a rebel and wanted to film outside the car … guess what he did? Yeah exactly he got out of the blooming car , but as he wanted to be “safe” he asked us to scream if there was any cheetah coming after him … we were all scared to death that that was the last of our days … My mom decided to play a little prank on him since he decided to be a hero , so my mom screams “JORGE THERE’S A CHEETAH !” and oh my god I’ve never laughed so hard in my life , my dad comes running like no other to the car with the his face pale as hell . We all started laughing until our bellys hurted . Till this day we make fun of him .

This other story happened this year on Halloween .

Every year there are kids coming to our house trick or treating , this year I decided to take their experience to a whole new level .
As they usually take the stairs and go on every floor and ring everyone’s bells this year was no exception , as they were ringing my house I hid in the stairs and waited until they came out to go to another floor and as they were opening the door I screamed AGHHHHHH  the little guy who was in the front of the line screamed AGHHHH for about 10 full seconds , he was so scared ! Needless to say that I laughed for 20 minutes non stop and I think I’ll do the same next year… I hope no one gets hurt with this tho .

And these were a couple of the funniest stories of my life … I have many more to tell you and I’d be happy to do it .

What are your funniest stories so far ? Tell me in the comments !
